I had the chance to visit the beach for the first time since I was in Hawaii last year. I went to the Gold Coast with my new Egyptian friend Mohamed who spent 8 years in Brisbane. We had great time together and we enjoyed a lot. The view was amazing and relaxing. Thanks for his help, I am getting adjusted here fast.

Thanks to University of Queensland Student association and UQ Mates and leaders for their activities towards making life easier for new students through helping them to adapt to the new society and environment, and meet new people from the same university.
It was really nice opportunity to meet new, nice, amazing, and great people. Also It was nice to see new places around the city and get lots of useful information that would help us to enjoy our stay in Brisbane for the next few years.
What an amazing, wonderful, active and colorful weekend I had. since I came to Korea, I have been looking to participate in something huge and beautiful like this festival. It is considered one the biggest festivals in South Korea with the age of over one thousand years old . It is the biggest Buddhist festival in Korea. People from all over the world come to attend and celebrate this. I had an honor to be one of the foreigner supporters for this festival along with other people from 50 different countries and covering the whole world.
It had been a great experience for me and I learned too much about this festival, Buddhist Culture, Buddhism Concept, and other cultures through talking to people from different countries.
I took lots and lots of photos and I would like to share some of them with you so that you can feel some of what I have experienced last few days.
I had a great Sunday as I had the opportunity to learn how to cook a small meal based on the Korean Buddhist temple food. First the nun told us about the history and explained about their eating habits including what they can eat and what they can’t eat. She told us that they can not eat anything that can move independently which means that they can’t eat any animals, sea food, or fishes. She also told us that if they want to eat meat they have to eat only from those animals that died naturally without any human intervention.
Then she showed us how to make two different dishes from the Lotus Roots. First one was Lotus Root Chimshi and we used lotus roots and other vegetables. The second dish was Lotus pancakes and it was very delicious.
Finally, we cooked those two dishes and enjoyed cooking and eating them as teams. My team consisted of three people from Lithuania, one from Canada and myself.
Here are some photos from the event.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 18,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 7 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
